1. We’d be grateful if you treat this seva as a commitment to God and to our temple family.
2. Please look after your own safety, and keep an eye out for others. If something doesn’t feel right, pause and let a lead know.
3. A little courtesy goes a long way here. Everyone who walks in is a guest of the Lord.
4. Please follow through on the duties you’re given. If you can’t make a shift, a quick note as soon as you know helps us cover things.
5. Schedules sometimes need to change for festivals, weather, or unexpected needs. A little flexibility is a big help.
6. A few roles have age, gender, or experience requirements, for safety and custom. We hope you’ll understand.
7. You’ll work with a lead volunteer. They’re there to help the day go smoothly.
8. From time to time we may need to decline or pause someone’s seva. We ask for your understanding if that happens.
9. Please follow the temple’s general, ethical, cultural, and religious guidelines while you’re with us.
10. We do our best to keep everyone safe, but accidents can happen. The temple isn’t able to take responsibility for injury, disability, or belongings lost on the grounds.
11. We may need to end someone’s volunteer service if these guidelines aren’t followed, or if conduct doesn’t fit how we try to run the temple. We don’t take that lightly.

1. Release. You’re agreeing to release Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Temple, and those who continue this work, from claims that arise from your seva, including injury, illness, death, or property damage. The temple isn’t able to provide medical coverage, disability pay, or other financial help if something goes wrong, unless a representative chooses to offer help on their own.
2. Insurance. You’re not asking the temple for compensation beyond whatever we may voluntarily offer.
3. Medical care. If someone offers first aid or emergency care on site, you’re also releasing the temple from claims about that care.
4. Risk. Seva can include kitchen work, lifting, setup and teardown, walking the grounds, and busy festival days. We want you to know those can carry some risk. By signing, you accept that risk and release the temple from liability for injury, illness, death, or property damage that may result.
5. Photos and video. You’re welcome in our community photos. By signing, you give the temple permission to use photos, video, and audio from your seva, including any proceeds from that use.
6. Law. This waiver is meant to be as broad as Wisconsin law allows, and Wisconsin law governs it. If a court sets aside one part, the rest still stands.

Working alongside other volunteers and staff is part of temple life; people have off days. You’re agreeing not to hold the temple responsible for issues that come from that ordinary closeness.

You’re also confirming that, as far as you know, you’re able to do the seva you’re assigned. If that turns out not to be the case, you won’t hold the temple responsible for taking the steps it needs to, including ending your service.
